Vegas Golden Knights vs Anaheim Ducks at 5:00PM at T-Mobile Arena October 27th.
As we welcome the Fall weather, we eagerly anticipate the return of hockey in Vegas. Pre-season has already revealed some highlights, new faces and hat tricks. If you are like us, you can’t wait to Knight Up!
New Season Brings New Faces
While the Vegas Golden Knights will not have Erik Haula, Pierre-Edouard Bellemare, Colin Miller or Nikita Gusev this season, the players brought in for training camp have shown potential and more have received contracts. This season welcomes newly signed contracts for defensemen Jaycob Megna and Brett Lernout, as well as forwards Patrick Brown and Tyrell Goulbourne.
Ready to contend for the Stanley Cup Finals, fan favorites like Mark Stone, Marc-Andre Fleury, Jonathan Marchessault, William Karlsson and Max Pacioretty gear up to show the rookies how Vegas wins.
There will also be new faces on the broadcast team. This season welcomes Stormy Buonantony, Mike McKenna and Daren Millard as on-air talent for the 2019-20 season. Two of these 3 new faces have a Vegas past and truly know what it means to be Vegas Born. Stormy Buonantony is a Las Vegas native and Mike McKenna, a retired professional hockey player, began his career on the Las Vegas Wranglers ECHL team.
The Vegas Golden Knights never shy away from a challenge. Even though preseason stats don’t count toward regular season, preseason games can help ramp up the team camaraderie and warm up players for season opening. Max Pacioretty has been instrumental in points scored (7 as of 9/25/19) and had a hat trick in the preseason opening game against the Arizona Coyotes. Both Cody Glass and Cody Eakin have also shown they are ready for the season to start with 3 points each. Preseason also gives coaches a chance to try out new lines and see which players work best together before the regular season starts. Line combo strategies can make or break the game and Gerard Gallant knows how to properly stack his team’s top lines for success.
Fittingly, the Golden Knights will open their third season at home against the San Jose Sharks on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at the T-Mobile Arena. The two teams will also meet two days later on October 4 in San Jose, California. The San Jose Sharks and Vegas Golden Knights have a long-standing rivalry that is sure to continue this season. Get ready for some Baby Shark songs and Ryan Reaves getting ready to brawl.
