Keep America Flying

This amazing campaign led by owner of the D Las Vegas, Derek Stevens sent record numbers to the website with serious urgency and FOMO. In an effort to “Keep America Flying” during these difficult times, Stevens generously purchased 1,000 one-way flights to Las Vegas for the first people who signed up online. Demand was so strong that the tickets were gone within an hour, so Stevens doubled the flights and purchased 1,000 more flights for eager travelers.

Vegas During COVID: New Rules and Guidelines

While there is much excitement and anticipation attached to Las Vegas opening their doors again, it’s important to remember that the atmosphere is just as changed as we all are. With the reopening of Vegas hotels and casinos, there also comes a comprehensive set of guidelines and rules that ensure the safety of guests and employees. Before you pack your bags and get ready for a weekend of TLC, learn some of the biggest changes Vegas is enacting to guarantee a safe and fun experience for all.

Entry into Vegas Hotels and Casinos

Make sure you are 100% healthy when you fly in for your Las Vegas trip because the city isn’t taking any chances. Be prepared to have your temperature checked whenever you enter onto a Vegas property. Resorts will be installing thermal imaging cameras at entrances. Guests with temperatures above 100.4 degrees will be turned away.

Gambling at Casinos

For all of you gambling lovers, your favorite table games and slot machines are ready for you to play and the odds have not changed. However, there are new rules that make for an interesting experience you may need time to get used to.

Table games will have a reduced number of players at one time to promote social distancing (many casinos are cutting numbers in half). Craps, for example, will be allowed three people on either side of the table, rather than seven. As far as machines, every other slot machine will either be out of use or without a chair to discourage people from sitting next to each other.

Regular sanitation of gaming equipment, chairs, and machines, as well as the installation of plexiglass barriers are also on the table when it comes to safety changes.

Woman Wearing Mask In Las Vegas Hotel Lobby

Wearing Masks

It has become a common sight to see employees wearing masks, and this trend will continue during your Las Vegas trip. Many Vegas hotels and casinos (the D, MGM, Wynn Resorts, Caesars Entertainment, and more) have announced that their employees are required to wear personal protective equipment like masks and gloves at all times. Along with this, the Gaming Control Board is requiring all properties to have masks available for guests, who will be strongly encouraged to wear them.

Partying at Clubs

Save your time and don’t pack your clubbing attire because Las Vegas clubs are to remain closed until further notice.

Crowding and Gathering

Just as social distancing has been enforced in every other state and city, Las Vegas will be cracking down on guests gathering in large groups. Whether you’re in a casino or hotel pool, social crowding will be shut down by resort employees.

Even though these new rules and guidelines are foreign territory when it comes to vacationing in Vegas, the excitement of Sin City’s reopening far outweighs the changes. With free flights courtesy of the D, some of the best Vegas deals on rooms, and the opportunity to get out of town after months of isolation, there is much to celebrate. Book your room or suite today and mark your calendars for an amazing “Welcome Back to Vegas” vacation you won’t soon forget!
